30 days of happiness

:: Time to get away at last to the beach
:: Watching the boys swimming, exploring, having fun
:: Swimming in the sea for the first time in years (it was so good)
:: Eating ice creams by the harbour
:: Burying in the sand
:: Spending precious moments in time that I shall never forget.

30 days of happiness:: back to reality

I am back from a little holiday in Dorset, happy, tired and thankful for the break.Feeling very tired, I did something rare for myself, but something I think I should do more often: in the 1 1/2 hours I have to myself in the day when both boys are at school and nursery, I sat back with a cup of tea and watched this movie. A rare treat I immensely enjoyed.

30 days of happiness:: day 7

Watching these two little guys play 'rock stars', making up their own songs and singing away makes me happy today.

Eating the crumble we made yesterday::
Seeing this scrumptious bakewell tart and planning on making my own.

30 days of happiness:: 6

I am trying to keep material things to a minimum as sources of happiness especially over these thirty days, however, sometimes there are certain things that cannot avoid bringing a big smile to my face even if I did have to buy it. I treated myself to this beautiful box of vintage and new haberdashery, one of the estate lots at the wonderful Lobster and Swan.

All this wonderful goodness arrived beautifully boxed and I can't wait to start using it all for all the projects I have swimming around in my head.

It is the first day of September, Autumn is just around the corner (my favourite season).
I am filling the house with little jars of posies.
A new school term is but two days away.
We are off now to spend some time at the playground and pick some more berries to make this wonderful crumble.
I have much to make me smile today.

30 days of happiness:: 5

Yesterday was quite a tough day. You know, one of those days when everything seems to be going against you. Well at one point I thought there would be nothing to bring a smile on my face that day, that is until I spotted these two jars of blackberry jelly that the boys and I made earlier in the week. Looking at the writing on the labels that Alex made (with the little drawing of a blackberry) together with some sticky little fingerprints on the jar, where little ones have sneaked a taste, really did bring a big smile to my face.

30 days of happiness:: day 4

We visited the library and came out with heavy bags,
stopped for milkshakes,
found a nice sunny grassy spot to sit and watch and listen and smell.
After a slow walk home, made dinner for the family, my homemade lasagne.
